Some people dream of diversity sustainability. We make it happen.

World Diversity Leadership Summit

Back in 2004, Virtcom has asked the following question: Does diversity have validity outside of the United States? In response to this question, we launched the World Diversity Leadership Summit in Prague, Czech Republic in 2004. The gathering brought together over 70 leaders from the United States and Europe. In 2006, the event was held in partnership with the Mayor of London's DiversityWorks program. In 2007 and 2008, the conference was held in NYC at the United Nations. The conference attracted nearly 500 participants and included the first ever WDLS CEO roundtable with CEOs from HSBC USA, Aviva, MGM, Adecco, P&G and Major League Baseball- Commissioner H. Bud Selig.

In 2009, the conference was held at the International Monetary Fund, 2010 at Harvard Medical School, 2011 in NYC and 2012 at Edward Jones Financial Services global headquarters in St. Louis.

INCLUSIVE BUSINESS SKILLS

Virtcom performed research with 1200 middle managers across 6 clients. The key question asked: our your engaged around your company's diversity initiative (Yes or NO). 42% of middle managers said Yes, but 58% said no. We also collected comments around diversity training, the main way that middle managers experience diversity activities. Managers noted "how does this diversity training help me help the business" and "this is an event model, one and done with no learning continuity". In response, Virtcom developed Inclusive Business Skills, designed to offer managers a WIIFM (What's in it for me). The 6 courses are:

1. d-ROI blindspots

2. Inclusive Engagement and Communications

3. Inclusive Leadership

4. Unconscious Bias and MicroInequities

5. Cultural Competency

6. Diversity Profit Generation Sales Training (designed for sales professionals)

Once learned, the skills are applied to actual projects in the real work environment and tracked for measurable impact.

These face-to-face and webinar sessions are also offered in the form of 30 minute elearning courses. Each course is typically comprised of 3 bite sized  modules of 10 minutes each.

ANALYTICS: "Big Data" for Diversity

Unlike every other major diversity consultancy, or any of the behemoth consultancies, Virtcom has developed a proprietary model, diversity-Return on Investment (d-ROI). The model was developed at Visa in 2004, and lead to $79M in incremental revenues in the first year of its inception. Analytics relies on HR data systems such as Peoplesoft, Supply Chain data such as SAP and Sales data such as Salesforce.com. Virtcom then cuts the data utilizing a wide range of demographics from gender, to geography, to tenure, to age, to ethnicity, and many more. In the end, Virtcom identifies Blindspots which are missed diversity business opportunities. These blindspots are worth millions of dollars and lead to monetization which can be tracked and measured. To date, Virtcom has realized over $870M in cost-savings and revenues that have gone straight to clients' bottom-line.

Rebekah Steele, former Global Inclusion Leader, Blackberry

“Virtcom's Analytics group identified over $72M in cost-savings linked to supplier diversity in year 1 of implementation.”
